Kolkata Knight Riders

Apr 19: After the match

It was a tough night to be in the dressing room. The 15 days of very hard preparation in South Africa did not seem to show. But given the nature of the tournament , Matthew and John emphasized that there was no time to look back, one just had to plan forward for the next game.

When a team loses it spends even more time together, as only fellow players or staff feel the same hurt. The boys in KKR have a lot of character - and are fortunate to have owners who only expect the team to fight their hardest, what ever the result.

So what did we do after the game. Shahrukh came over - and the boys sat quietly around drinking coffee and chatting. As all players know, it is impossible to sleep within 3, 4 hours of a game as the andrenalin pumps you too high during the match.

There is a blog spot which a team member showed me this morning which purports to be from a member of the KKR entourage. Poison pen writing of the dirtiest variety, but far too many factual errors. Who ever it is out there is obviously very sick, perverted and has far too little information or insight to successfully pretend to be a part of us.

Yashpal has joined us yesterday, and while he will start training - he will need at least 3 or 4 days to get his feel for the local wickets.

The gloomy weather has followed us to Durban - with rain predicted for tonight.
